December and January has shown us a definite change in Buyer activity. A lot of the smart Buyers that have been priced out of the market are taking advantage of the market correction and grabbing on to their weekend home now with the abundance of inventory in our area.
There is still some of the low-ballers around just looking for a steal, but they seem to be fewer since despite their efforts most of them were not successful in making a deal. But it seems that our normal Buyers are coming back around looking at Real Estate to purchase. The last few weeks we have shown a lot of our condo/Twnhm listings and have fielded many calls on our vacant lots, these 2 sectors have been cold for months. We have been talking to many long-term investors looking to purchase instead of the "flipper" and also the people looking for retirement homes are showing up on our doorstep.
2 of Decembers showings on our listings will be closing in the next week, and we are all hoping this trend will continue. I expect that the Keys will come out of this correction smoothly, it will be slow still due to the high inventory of homes.
